The Story
The fishermen whisper about it in the harbor tavern: in a heavy storm she looms out of the mist, a galley with tatters for sails and a crew of shades. She has sailed for centuries, doomed until she presses enough living souls to man the oars. Tonight she comes for your ship.
Kapitein Morgens de Eedbreker once broke a sacred oath: he swore to bring his men home and let them drown to save his own skin. The god of the sea cursed him until he honors that oath, something he refuses to understand. Whoever steps aboard sails with him, unless the curse is broken first.
You are dragged aboard and must read the ship like a tomb: the logbooks, the names scratched into the deck, the spot where the crew drowned. You calm the shades, find the sunken oath-stone, and wring the truth from a captain who would rather lie than atone.
The twist: honoring the oath means Morgens must finally follow his crew to the seabed, and he clamps the wheel with rotted fingers, ready to drag the whole world down rather than sink alone. In the raging storm, with the galley groaning and the water rising, you must set the oath-stone right while Kapitein Morgens tries to heave you overboard. Succeed, and the galley sinks at last in peace; fail, and your names are scratched into the deck.
