The Story

In the city of Waaklicht, no one wakes anymore. They go to bed and keep breathing, but their eyes never open again; they toss, they weep, they whisper names. The healers stand helpless, and the citizens still awake no longer dare to sleep.

A creature that feeds on dreams has built a realm of pure fear and pulls sleepers into it one by one. Every harvested dream makes it stronger and the realm larger. Whoever stays awake too long falls in the end, and by then it is too late.

To save the sleepers you must fall asleep yourselves and enter the nightmare. Other laws rule there: the sky is an eye, corridors lead into childhood fears, dying does not always land, until it does. You navigate the warped dream-logic, free trapped dreamers, and follow the trail of fear to the heart of the realm.

The twist: De Droomvreter knows your deepest fears and shapes itself from your own nightmares; the realm bends to break you, and dying once inside can mean you never wake again. In the climax, face to face with De Droomvreter in the beating heart of its realm, you must defeat it and stay awake at the same time, before it locks your minds away in sleep forever.
