The Story

The corridor you were following narrows, and suddenly you stand among thousands of mirrors reflecting into infinity. Every movement multiplies a hundredfold, but not all the reflections obey: some lag half a beat, some stand still while you walk, and one smiles when none of you does. The light has no source and casts no shadow.

This mirror labyrinth of Nachtglas is a prison, built to hold in something that lives on the far side of the glass: a mirror world where reflections woke to awareness and began to covet the place of their originals. Whoever gets lost here is eventually replaced, and the replacement walks out smiling while the real victim stays trapped behind the glass forever.

You must find a way through a maze that shifts every time you look away, where the shortest route runs straight through a mirror and the wrong turn sets you face to face with yourself. You learn to tell false reflections from real ones, decipher which glass offers passage and which is a trap, and keep a sharp eye on one another, because a reflection that escapes wears your face.

At the heart of Nachtglas waits De Spiegeling: a figure identical to one of you, who has waited so long to switch places that she has perfected your voice, your memories, your gestures. She offers you a way out, provided one of you stays behind. To get everyone out alive and real, you must separate the true glass from the false and defeat De Spiegeling without breaking yourself. The climax plays out in the hall of mirrors, where you can no longer be sure which of you still stands on the right side.
