The Story
High on the Wolkenkam dwells the Orde van de Gevleugelde Wacht, knights who fly on dragons and have guarded the valley for centuries. Their bond with the dragons is sacred, sealed by an ancient pact. Until poachers broke that pact.
The thieves stole an egg from the nest of Vuurmoeder, the eldest red dragon of the flight, and she holds the entire valley to account. Village after village goes up in flames as she searches for her young. The order cannot bring her down without severing their bond with every dragon, and they cannot hold her off forever.
You track the poachers: burning villages, a crashed dragon rider, a smuggler's trail leading to a collector with too much gold. You unravel who bought the egg, break into a fortress of dragon hunters, and recover the egg while Vuurmoeder scorches everything above your heads.
The twist: the man behind it wants the egg not as a trophy but to found a dragon-rider dynasty of his own, and he has already hatched the young one and bound it to his own blood. To return it, you must pry it loose from him before Vuurmoeder, in blind rage, lays the whole valley, order and all, to ash. The climax plays out between two fires: the raging mother of fire and scales in the sky, and the thief on the ground.
