The Story
Grimwoud smells of moss, resin and, lately, of blood. Three wardens never came back, and the one who did rants about a shape with the head of an owl and the body of a bear, silent until it was already too late. The village will pay gold to anyone who makes the woods safe again, but nobody will tell you what truly prowls out there.
The truth is sadder than any monster. Deep among the roots lies a nest, and one of the cubs is gone, carried off by a poacher who means to sell his catch for a fortune. The mother is not evil. She is desperate, and that makes her deadlier than any beast.
You follow trails of blood and broken branches, read claw prints in the mud, and find the abandoned poacher's den with the cage still warm. Then she appears: the Owlbear Mother, a thousand pounds of feather and muscle, who takes you for the thief. You must choose: fight her, or somehow make her understand that you are bringing her cub home.
The twist: the poacher has already sold the cub to a traveling show that departs that very night. You race through Grimwoud with the Owlbear Mother at your heels. The climax breaks over the show's wagons, where you must free the cub while she attacks, and one right choice decides whether she becomes your protector or your final enemy.
