Traits

Sporennetwerk.

The Story

You wake on cold obsidian, deep beneath the world, in a dungeon carved from living rock and lit by violet crystals. Four hundred prisoners wait here for the slave market, and in two days it is your turn. There is one way up, and only the dead know it.

The real problem glows along the walls: a bioluminescent fungus that links every cell to the jailer's chamber. Every whisper, every footstep, every plan is carried to a blind warden who hears all and forgives nothing. A fellow prisoner managed to smuggle a note to the surface, and it cost him his tongue.

You must deceive the fungus or snuff it out, win keys and favors from the other prisoners, and piece together a route upward through mine shafts no one has crossed alive. Every noise draws Jailer Vhaeloth closer, and betrayal waits among those who would buy their own freedom with yours.

The breakout builds to a reckoning with Jailer Vhaeloth, the Spore-Listener, fused with the fungus he fed to prisoners for years. Blind and smiling, he hears your heartbeat through the spores in the air, and your plan before you even whisper it. Succeed, and four hundred souls go free; fail, and your voice becomes the next one the walls whisper to him.
